The area

Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas is a village of the Gard at the foot of the Cévennes, next to Alès. Its Romanesque church dates from the 12th century, and the Camisard negotiations of 1704 took place here. On Saturday mornings, local growers fill the church square; Uzès holds its big market on Saturdays too, and the Bambouseraie, a bamboo garden created in 1856, lies by Anduze.

Fervenza is a French all-inclusive wedding company. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at the Comptoir Saint-Hilaire cost?

From $60,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests, in low season: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. Your exact price depends on your date and guest count, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers canceling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the estate directly?

You can, it's a lovely house. The estate rents you its 57 hectares from Friday to Sunday, furniture included, and opens its address book. You then bring together the caterer, the drinks, the service, the flowers, the decor, the music and the photographer. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the estate keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

From 50 to 200. Up to 200 dine under the pergola, 120 on the terrace of the mas, 80 in the barn. 42 sleep on the estate, the others in the venue's two other houses or in Alès, 10 minutes away.

Which dates are still free?

The estate hosts one private event at a time. Tell us your date, we check with the Comptoir Saint-Hilaire and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, wherever you like: along the rows of the olive grove, facing the lavender field, around the pool or at the foot of the hundred-year-old oak. You write your own words, you choose who marries you, and your people gather all around.

Can we have our civil wedding in Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the estate. Saint-Hilaire-de-Brethmas town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the estate.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes. The TGV from Paris stops at Nîmes, 30 minutes from the estate, and Alès, 10 minutes away, has its own station. From the UK, the nearest airports are Nîmes and Montpellier, then Marseille. And 42 of your guests sleep on site.

Until what time can we dance?

As late as you like: indoors and behind the mas, there is no closing time. Music in front of the mas stops at 10 pm, so the dance floor moves into the barn, by the edge of the wood.

And in the height of summer?

We set the day by the light: the vows in the olive grove in late afternoon, drinks in the shade of the 300-year-old hackberries, dinner under the pergola's canvas as the evening cools. And the two pools are there for your guests from the morning.

How do our guests get back after the party?

42 of them only have a few steps to their bedroom. For the others, we give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the estate, where no two bedrooms look alike. One of you in the Highland suite and its billiard room, the other in a mazet among the fields, your people next door and the olive grove a few steps away.

Will our families be comfortable?

Yes: a ground-floor bedroom for the grandparents, cots and a high chair for the little ones, childminders on request, and dogs accepted. Parking is on site, below the mas.
