The area

Latresne sits on the right bank of the Garonne, among the vineyards of the Premières-Côtes-de-Bordeaux, facing Bordeaux, whose historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On Sunday morning, the Latresne market; on Wednesday and Saturday, the one in Créon. And for those who arrive early, Saint-Émilion and its vines, or the Bassin d'Arcachon, 50 km away.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French all-inclusive wedding company. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château Gassies cost?

From $85,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests between November and March: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. For a date from April to October, or more days, the price follows the château's seasons. The exact price for your date, in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers canceling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the château directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The château rents you the whole estate, with its rooms and breakfasts, and opens its list of partners to you. You then bring together the caterer, the drinks, the DJ, the flowers, the decor, the photographer and a wedding planner from its list. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the château keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 150 at table in the Charles X hall, and 43 of them can sleep at the château. For a more intimate welcome dinner, the Orangerie takes fewer than 40 people.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with the château and reply in writing. Its softest rates run from November to March, on weekdays from April to October.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: in the oak grove, facing the 260-year-old cedar, or in a covered courtyard, the Calèche under its arched windows or the Orangerie. The central garden, between the two wings of the château, is possible as an option. You write the ceremony that feels like you, we set the scene.

Can we have our civil wedding in Latresne?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the château. Latresne town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the château.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is 25 minutes away, Bordeaux Saint-Jean station 15, with Paris 2 hours away by TGV. 43 of them sleep at the château; for the others, the best addresses in Bordeaux, less than 20 minutes away.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

How do our guests get back after the party?

43 of them just go upstairs, to the suites and guesthouses. For the others, the hotels in Bordeaux are less than 20 minutes away. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Who cooks for our wedding?

A caterer from the château's own list, who knows the kitchen and the rooms by heart. We choose them with you, you taste the menu beforehand, and it is included in your price. On the wine side, the château leaves the choice free.

Where do we get ready?

In the Cèdre suite, the largest, with its four-poster bed and its big arched window, and in another suite for the other one of you. Hair and make-up come to your room.

Can our grandparents get around easily?

Yes. The Chêne suite is on the ground floor, designed for guests with reduced mobility, with French doors straight onto the garden. The parking has 56 spaces.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes, and if you already have a vendor in mind, they're welcome. Your photos are included, with our photographers. If you already have yours, we welcome them into the team and adjust your price. For the table and the music, the château works from its own list of caterers and DJs, and we choose with you.
