The area

Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans is a village between La Brède and Martillac, in the Pessac-Léognan vineyards south of Bordeaux. The Château de La Brède, where Montesquieu was born, is 5 minutes away, and so is a winery open for tastings. The village market is on Sunday morning, Léognan's on Saturday: something for the guests who arrive on Friday.

Fervenza is a French all-inclusive wedding company. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Domaine de Larchey cost?

From $55,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers canceling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the estate directly?

You can, it's a lovely house. The estate rents you its rooms, its gardens and its furniture for the weekend. You then bring together the caterer, the drinks, the DJ, the flowers, the decor, the photographer and the officiant. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the estate keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 130 at the table in the Aliénor room, with the Ovalie room next door for the late bar. The hotel has 34 beds, the two of you included. The others stay a few minutes away, and we give you the addresses.

Which dates are still free?

The estate hosts weddings all year round. Tell us your date, we check with Domaine de Larchey and reply in writing.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes, in the park, under old oaks that keep everyone in the shade. If it rains, it moves under the nomad tent on the terrace or into the Ovalie room. Your words, your officiant, your people around you.

Can we have a religious blessing at the estate?

Yes, in the Saint-Christophe chapel, built on the estate in 1954: up to 60 of your people, 30 of them seated. The parish priest gives his agreement beforehand, and the estate suggests bringing your own officiant.

Can we have our civil wedding in Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the estate. Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the estate.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is 25 minutes away, Bordeaux city centre 20. By train, Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans station is 3 km from the estate, 12 minutes from Bordeaux Saint-Jean. And 34 beds are waiting at the hotel.

How do our guests get back after the party?

Those at the hotel only have a few steps to their room. The others stay in La Brède, Martillac or Bordeaux: we give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Where do we get ready?

At the estate. A lounge of the hotel is lent to you for getting ready, and the bridal room, with its dressing area for your outfits, is ready from 4 pm. If you'd rather wake up on site, the room can be booked from Friday.

What about the children?

They have their own room, right next to the dinner, with sofas, cartoons on a big screen and colouring. From 6 children under 12, a children's entertainer looks after them, as the estate asks. And the next day, the horses and donkeys in the paddock.
