The area

Rognes is a village of the Pays d'Aix, between the Durance and the Trévaresse hills, known for its stone, quarried since Roman times. The market on Wednesday mornings, the farmers' market on Saturday mornings, the Cistercian abbey of Silvacane next door, and from mid-July to mid-August the International Piano Festival's recitals in the park of the Château de Florans, at La Roque-d'Anthéron.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French all-inclusive wedding company. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

How much does a wedding at Château Barbebelle cost?

From $80,000, all-inclusive, for about 100 guests: the venue, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers canceling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the estate directly?

You can, it's a beautiful house. The estate rents you its hamlet from Friday to Sunday, with its houses, its tent and its furniture, and opens its address book. You then bring together the caterer, the flowers, the decor and the DJ. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the estate keeps its own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 200 at table under the bamboo tent, and 40 of you can sleep on the estate. From the family weekend for 40 to the big party, the hamlet keeps up.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with the estate and reply in writing. Weddings here run from May to October, and in winter the estate has an indoor option for parties of under 50.

Can we have a secular ceremony on site?

Yes: under the pines, facing the estate's vines, with your people on wooden benches around you. You choose who marries you, in English, French or both, and what gets said.

Can we have our civil wedding in Rognes?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall, never at the estate. Rognes town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the ceremony at the estate.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: Aix-en-Provence TGV station is 30 minutes away by car and Marseille airport 40. 38 of them sleep on the estate, and for the others we give you the addresses of the best hotels in Aix-en-Provence, 20 minutes away, ready to share with your loved ones.

How late can the party go on?

Until 4 am, under the tent in the middle of the vines. Those sleeping on the estate are already home, and for the others, Aix-en-Provence and its hotels are 20 minutes away. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

Where do we get ready?

In your 20 m² suite, in one of the hamlet's three houses, kept for the family. Your closest people get ready in the same house, and everyone is already there when the day begins.

And if it rains?

The tent closes: dinner and dancing carry on under cover, out of the wind and the rain. For the ceremony, we pick the plan B with you a few days before, depending on the forecast.

Can we have our photos taken in front of the château?

Yes. Your wedding takes place in the hamlet, in the heart of the vines, and the hire also opens the château's main facade, usually private, for a two-hour photo session, booked in advance.

Which wines will be served?

The estate's own, organic and in the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation: rosés, whites, reds and sparkling. You choose them at the tasting, at the estate's cellar.

Will our grandparents manage easily?

Yes. The tent and the park are wheelchair accessible, parking is free on site, and the ceremony, drinks, dinner and dancing all happen in the hamlet. Tell us who needs the easiest room, we ask the estate to set it aside.
