Your wedding at the Carrières des Lumières

Fervenza plans your wedding here, from $210,000, everything included

Win back 56 days of peace of mind

Planning a wedding is a second job. At Fervenza, it's ours: creative ideas that feel like you, our address book, one contract and a price you know up front. Your ally, for the two of you, carrying your whole wedding.

Why we love the Carrières des Lumières

The doors close to the public, and the quarry becomes yours. Your guests walk through halls of white limestone where the year's exhibition moves across the stone, then sit down to dinner in an open-air courtyard below Les Baux-de-Provence. What they will talk about on the way home: dinner under the stars, deep inside a quarry.

The area

The Carrières sit in the Val d'Enfer, below Les Baux-de-Provence, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, in the heart of the Alpilles. The Château des Baux is 800 metres away, the village under ten minutes on foot. For those who come early: the big Wednesday-morning market in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and the lanes of Les Baux at sunset.

Who is Fervenza?

Fervenza is a French all-inclusive wedding company. With Émilie and the whole team, we’re already planning the weddings of 2027 and 2028.

  • French company, licensed live-event producer Your contract is governed by French law
  • Covered by professional liability insurance
How much does a wedding at the Carrières des Lumières cost?

From $210,000, all-inclusive, for one evening and about 100 guests: the Carrières all yours, the exhibition for your guests, the table, the flowers, the music, your photos, and us on site. The exact price depends on your date and your guest count, and you get it in writing within a week.

Can the price change?

Once we’ve agreed, no. It only changes if you change the wedding: more or fewer guests, a wish added along the way.

What if one of our suppliers can’t make it?

We replace them. They’re our suppliers, under our contract, so the two of you have nothing to search for or renegotiate. You approve the choice, and we take care of the rest.

Can we insure our wedding?

Yes, if you wish. We can offer optional cancellation insurance dedicated to your wedding, placed with Lloyd’s. It covers canceling or postponing for reasons beyond your control, including if one of you can’t be there, as set out in the policy terms.

What if we booked the Carrières directly?

You can, it's a remarkable place. The Carrières rent you the whole site for the evening, with the current exhibition, and give you their list of approved partners. You then bring together the caterer and the staff, the furniture, the lighting and the sound. With us, all of that is in your price, every choice stays yours, and the Carrières keep their own rate. You come to get married.

How many guests can we invite?

Up to 400 at a seated dinner and 750 for a cocktail party. The open-air Cour Picasso seats up to 350, the covered Espace Cocteau up to 250. From 20 guests to the big party, the quarry adapts.

Which dates are still free?

Tell us your date, we check with the Carrières and reply in writing. The site is open all year round, and your evening begins once the doors close to the public. On a few summer and autumn evenings, the Carrières host their own public evenings: we check yours against them straight away.

Can we say "I do" at the Carrières?

The Carrières open for you in the evening, at closing time. Couples who celebrated here said I do earlier in the day, elsewhere in the Alpilles, then found their guests here for the exhibition and dinner. We set up your ceremony wherever you dream of it, and add it to your price. Vows in the Cour Picasso? We ask the Carrières for your date.

Can we have our civil wedding in Les Baux-de-Provence?

In France, a civil wedding always takes place at a town hall. Les Baux-de-Provence town hall can marry you if one of you, or one of your parents, lives there or has lived there for at least a month. Otherwise, the civil wedding happens in your own town, and the party at the Carrières.

Our guests are flying in. Is it easy for them?

Yes: TGV stations in Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, airports in Marseille and Avignon, Arles 15 km away and Avignon 30. The village of Les Baux is under ten minutes on foot, and we share the best addresses around it.

How do our guests get home after the party?

Those staying in Les Baux walk back: the village is under ten minutes away. For everyone else, hotels in the Alpilles are close by. We give you the addresses, ready to share with your loved ones.

Coming from abroad: how does it work?

Your contract is governed by French law, and also written in English.

How late does the party go?

From closing time until 1 a.m., the dance floor is yours. After that, the evening can carry on lounge-style, for those who want more.

Can our own photos be projected on the walls?

Yes. The Carrières team creates a show just for you, from your photos, your videos and your music: in the Salle Dante as your guests arrive, or in the Espace Cocteau during the evening. Tell us, and we add it to your wedding.

What is the temperature inside the quarry?

The stone keeps it cool: 14 to 16 °C inside, a real treat on a summer evening. A light wrap is all your guests need, and dinner in the Cour Picasso is in the open air.

Can we choose our caterer?

Yes, among the houses approved by the Carrières, seven today. We taste their menus with you, you pick the one you love, and we take care of the rest with them.

Will our grandparents manage easily?

Yes: the Carrières are fully accessible to wheelchair users, and everything happens on one evening, in one place. A light wrap for the exhibition halls, and they are all set.

Where do we get ready?

At your hotel or a house in the Alpilles, where you spend the day and say I do. The Carrières welcome you in the evening, when your guests are already in the exhibition.
